What to do with Unwanted Presents or Gifts
unwanted presents / donate to charity
We are often faced with the problem of unwanted presents or gifts and the equally difficult problem of knowing what to do with them.
I am sure everyone of us, when given a useless present will pretend to be very thankful and say things like,"Oh! How kind. Thank you so much. This is just what I wanted and it is very beautiful."
Sometimes, we have to keep these presents on show, especially when the giver lives nearby, but in time the gift can disappear into the unknown and nobody is the wiser!
- If you are planning a clear out after Christmas or after a birthday celebration and wondering what to do with your unwanted presents, remember your local charities are always encouraging people to donate sellable items to their charity shops.
- Remember to fill out a your Gift Aid Declaration which allows the charity to reclaim an extra 28p for every pound donated.
- New donated items are always welcomed and make good money.
- Depending on the charity you choose, eg OXFAM, your gift, instead of being clutter, will be indirectly used, maybe to provide education, support to the old, the sick, the starving and the troubled. There are so very many people everywhere who need a helping hand.
- Now this unwanted present has become a wonderful gift to someone. What more could you wish for.
Friends are like Flowers. They Brighten the Day.
Of course there are other ways to enjoy unwanted presents.
- You could sell them yourself either through the web, a newpaper advertisement or at a car-boot sale and out of this money buy something you really, really want.
- You could give it to somebody else for their birthday present.
- You could put it on show in your house and hope to get to like it in time.
You are really lucky to have a friend who wants to make you happy by giving you a present.
I am sure your friend really enjoyed choosing something special for you.
You could either bask in her/his kindness or pass on this kindness to make others happy.
Kindness, thoughtfulness and friendship is yours.
