STINK BUG CONTROL

stink bug control

Stink Bugs can be bothersome insects especially when they enter your home. When they find a way to come inside, they are usually escaping the colder weather and just looking for a warm and cosy shelter.

Stink Bugs are comparatively harmless but are a real nuisance as they emit a fine, odorous spray in order to defend themselves from predators. This spray is foul smelling and has the tendency to linger after it has been released.

During warm months of the year, the female stink bugs attach large masses of eggs to the underside of leaves and stems.
These eggs hatch and turn into wingless nymphs before becoming full-sized, winged adults.

Stink bugs do not usually bite humans but great care should be used when handling them to avoid a release of their odorous, fine mist spray. This mist can cause burning to the eyes which may damage the cornea. If sprayed into the eyes, flush the eyes with water and seek medical advice immediately.

STINK BUG CONTROL

Stink Bugs are attracted to your home by the light coming from your windows at night so the best advice is to either close your windows or draw the blinds or curtains and shut any outside doors when the lights are on.

Check the walls, the ceilings for cracks and other small openings where these insects can enter or hibernate. Fill all defects with silicone or latex caulk. You may need to employ professional pest controllers if they bugs have infested the attic spaces.

These small shied bugs usually come inside when the outside temperature begins to fall. When Stink Bugs group in large numbers they can become significant pests. If your home becomes infested resist squashing them or vacuuming them as this will usually make the smell worse.

If you find you have to handle Stink Bugs, wear protective gloves to avoid their piercing beak which is used to suck the juices out of plants and pine seeds. The bite feels like a pin prick. Remember too, to wear a face mask to protect against their spray!

Just prior to the time when Stink Bugs start to congregate use the a synthetic pyrethroid like Talstar Pro but if the Stink Bugs are already congregating in your house, spray with aerosol-type pyrethrum pesticides. This will kill Stink Bugs that have amassed on walls and ceilings.

If you have tried various approaches to getting rid of these bugs from your home and have failed, then maybe you will have to call in a pest control professionals who deal in Stink Bug Control
