General Treatment for stain removal from clothes.

For some stains the emergency treatment will be as follows.

  • Using tissue, kitchen roll or an absorbent cloth, blot up as much fluid as possible from the stain and remove any solid bits with a palette knife.
  • Wet a soft cloth or sponge with cold water and a little toilet soap or non coloured detergent and dab this on your stain and massage it in. This action will soften and dilute the stain.
  • Do not artificially dry the stained fabric until further treatment has taken the stain out completely.
  • As soon as possible, remove the stained garment and let it soak in cold water.

This treatment may be enough to remove many everyday stains. If the stain has disappeared, check the label again and give the article the recommended wash cycle using biological washing powder.
