Recycle ALL cards for more TREES
recycle all cards for more trees / recycle at home
Do you and your family get heaps of cards for all sorts of celebrations all year around, such as Christmas cards, Birthday cards, Easter cards etc. etc!?
What do you do with them after looking at them, reading the kind and often funny verses and displaying them for a while?
The time eventually comes when you just have to remove the last lot to make space for the new.
Well, here is the best idea that I have read in a long time.
Have a special place to store all the cards you have received and enjoyed throughout the year.
In January of every year have one last look and a good read through of all of the cards you have enjoyed throughout the year.
Save the really special cards (Maybe the ones where you can get renewed enjoyment or happy memories every time you see them)
Recycle the rest of the cards and be happy as the money raised from your kindness will be given to the Woodland Trust.
THE WOODLAND TRUST
The Woodland Trust has been running an annual card recycling scheme for the home for many years. Throughout January every year, all cards can be deposited in special recycling bins in TK Maxx, Marks and Spencers and HomeSense stores.
These retailers will donate all monies raised from the recycling of cards to the Woodland Trust, with the aim of raising enough to pay for 12.000 or more native woodland trees every year.
Take your old cards to your local specifichome recyclingpoint. Be proud that you have helped the Woodland Trust to fulfil its dream of planting 20 million native trees in the UK each year. This would help them to achieve their long term goal of doubling native woodland cover throughout the UK.
When you have recycled your cards, do visit www.moretreesmoregood.org.uk/cards
and follow the steps to register your vote for a suitable place in your area or anywhere else in the country where the new trees could be planted.
We all need to do what we can to support the charities and governments who work with people to regenerate our lost and reduced woodlands. Trees planted today will be above head height in 10 years and will benefit people and wildlife in many, many ways.
For people living in housing developments, trees provide welcome shelter and shade. They improve air quality and provide a play and relaxation area for the local people.
The Woodland Trust provides tree packs, designed to help groups plant more trees in the copses in the shared local spaces.
Do recycle all cards for more trees and help this group to achieve their aims.
