MINI FREEZER
ONLY THE BEST WILL DO.

Custom Search

Before you buy a mini freezer you need to do some reseach on all types of freezers as getting the size and the storage capacity right for your situation is really important.

The choice you have includes the mini or table top freezer, a small freezer, a fridge freezer, a compact freezer, or a chest freezer.
Not only do freezers come in different sizes, have varying storage capacities, but you also have to make the decision if you want your freezer to be freestanding, under the counter, on the counter or integrated. What a choice!

BEFORE BUYING, CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT POINTS

  • The first and basic point is to consider the amount of freezing capacity you need. For both price and energy efficiency it is better to buy the correct size of freezer rather than finding one is too big and standing half empty or too small and you needing to buy a back-up freezer.
  • Where will the freezer be placed? If you have decided to buy a mini freezer, check the size.
    This is the size of a Zanussi ZFX305W, H52 x W52.5 x D58.7cm.
  • The storage and freezing capacity. These are approximate figures to expect for the mini freezer:-
    volume of freezer 50L.
The freezing capacity allowing 7kg of food to be frozen in 24hours.
  • The energy rating Energy Rating. This freezer is Graded on performance A++ - G, with A++ being the highest grade.
  • How much the average running cost per year if the appliance is used following the manufactures instructions.
  • The Star rating. Freezers are rated from 1-4 Stars with 3 keeping food the longest and the 4th star denoting a fast freezing capability.
  • How long can this freezer can keep your food frozen in case of a power cut. You would expect around 17hours.
  • Can the door can be hinged from the right or left, to suit the constraints of the freezer placement.
  • Number of shelves. Usually just 1.
  • Are there any door compartments or pockets?
  • Are any accessories provided such as ice scraper or ice tray?
  • What is the noise level compared to a larger freezer? (expect around 39 decibels).

ARRANGING YOUR FOOD IN YOUR TABLE TOP FREEZER

To save freezer space, use heavy-duty freezer bags, when possible, for storing food. Remove any excess air from the bag and freeze the bags lying flat. When the food is frozen stack them up like books on a shelf.
