Creating your Master Bedroom Floor Plans
Master bedroom floor plans! What fun you are going to have designing your special bedroom. I do hope you will enjoy the planning, researching and creating it requires until your dream is achieved.
You will need to consider carefully the overall theme of your master bedroom floor plans and the amount of money you can put aside for your new furniture and fittings.
Small House Floor Plans
- Maybe your master bedroom is the biggest bedroom of the house and has an en-suite bathroom and even a balcony. These extra spaces will need consideration within your design scheme.
- Maybe you are looking for small house floor plans where the master bedroom floor plans have to be very, very carefully thought out because every bit of space is precious.
In both the above cases your aim is to use simple floor plans to design a room that is easily managed, whilst at the same time radiating peace, serenity and beauty.
Collecting your Primary Ideas for Simple Floor Plans
- Go to the library and study books and magazines. Visit appropriate design centres or stores.
- Visit your neighbours and see if their master bedroom design gives you any inspirations.
- Make a list of all the furniture and fittings you will need and/or want to place in your room.
- Consider lighting, furnishings and storage needs and remember to arrange everything in a way to help yourself and family members to move safely and efficiently around your room.
- Consider any fixed fittings and plan to arrange items around them remembering any safety requirements.
- Now try to imagine your general perceived plan and maybe do a quick draft of the lay-out of your planned master bedroom.
Before starting to sketch any rough plans, check out your need to declutter your possessions. You may only wish to keep articles that you both really need or want, and then plan to recycle the old, worn or redundant items.
You will find ideas to help you tidy up and sort out in my web page called, Organizing Tips for Recycling your Clutter.
TAKE YOUR TIME. All plans need to be mulled over, jigged around and improved.
DIY Floor Plans
- Purchase some graph paper (with 10mm to 1cm squares) from your local stationers.
- Draw the outline of your room to scale in centimetres. (cms)
- Measure the length and width of your intended furniture in cms.
- Make cardboard cut-outs of your furniture to scale.
- Place the cut-outs on the graph paper in a position you believe to be suitable for your master bedroom floor plans.
Free Master Bedroom Floor Plans
Often free floor plans are offered as part of the general service to customers in a variety of furniture stores . With some shops the service is truly free but with others it becomes a free service in retrospect, but only, if you order the furniture from them. Remember to ask what “free” means!
