How to Clean the Main Room of the House

• Do a quick go-around the floor with the dust pan and brush.
• If you have a carpet and the floor is really bad, do a quick vacuum on the main area.
• Plump up the sofa cushions, straighten any rugs, rug fringes and curtains.
• Arrange or straighten chairs.
• Remove old newspapers, magazines and junk mail into the recycling bins and hide any untidiness into cupboards, (to be sorted later).
• Remove dead flowers from any flower arrangement.
• If desired, spray a little perfume around.

Cleaning tips for the Toilet or Bathroom

• Make sure the toilet bowl is clean. If not give it a good brush and add bleach to the water.
• Take an old towel or microfiber cloth to clean the sink and shine the taps.
• Use your handy dustpan and brush to remove any stray hairs on the floor.
• Put out a clean towel for visitors.

Put the kettle on and arrange a tray with cups, saucers and plates and don’t forget the most important and tempting plate of biscuits!

If your visitors have not yet arrived and if you have time and the inclination, take your microfiber cloth and shine the mirrors and dust a few tops but remember to have time to relax for a moment before the deluge of visitors.
