When you buy a fridge or freezer thermometer, look for one

• cast from plastic,
• with a clear and easy readable print.
• a pointer large enough to read easily. A red pointer is the norm.
• a temperature range reaching at least to -20C.
• a method of displaying the thermometer such as a plastic hook to hang the thermometer from a shelf or a suction cup to attach to the inside surface of the freezer.
  
  

  A Freezer Malfunction Alarm

  It is possible to buy a freezer controller that includes an alarm which lets out a sound when the temperature inside the freezer falls below the programmed set point.
