The location of the office within the home requires much thought.
The best position is a room with a window facing a view of nature.
This will promote a grounding atmosphere and will enable the occupant to concentrate on their chosen goal.
If you cannot have a garden view, then choose a beautiful picture, depicting nature, and add green plants to the room. This alternative method of inviting nature into the office will also carry many positive vibes.
Try to locate the office room away from the bedrooms. If possible have a door directly to the outside but if theis is not possible, place a mat or bell outside your door to mark out your personal space.
It is wise do everything possible to maximise wellbeing which in turn will encourage concentration, hard work and creativity, bringing success to your business
Office Lighting
To keep your mind focussed on the job in hand, place your desk with a side view to the window. This way you will have natural light and avoid any possible distractions of actions happening outside.
If your office requires more light, the best lighting comes from full spectrum lighting. If this method is not possible, then choose to have up-lighters to give you good light and at the same time keep your spirits uplifted.
Location for your Office Desk and other Furniture
- Place your office desk and chair in a position where you can see the person entering your office.(symbolic of POWER and SECURITY).
- If this is not possible then place a mirror in a position to reflect the entrance door, BUT do not place a mirror anywhere where it could reflect and double your work load!
- Place your desk in a way that positions your back to a solid wall. (Symbolic of SUPPORT). Leave this wall devoid of pictures or posters as it could distract a visitor when he or she is in discussion with you.
- The positioning of the office furniture must aim to leave unobstructed space allowing the flow of energy to freely enter the room via the door or the window.
- If your room is small and crowded a crystal hung in the window will assist the good energy to flow into your office
Shapes that Stimulate Creativity in the Office
It is well known that certain shapes are pleasing to the eye whist others annoy or are for some inexplicable reason not comfortable to live with.
Research has shown that curves, circles and oval shapes can create and promote creativity whilst rectangles and squares can promote money management and decision making.
