Tidying and reorganizing your bathroom need not be a time consuming or costly business. With a little imagination and effort you can soon transform this much used room into something quite specatcular.

For an uncluttered and fresh look, go for clean lines and a restricted color palette. Choose simple furniture such as a small chest of drawers, cupboard or cabinet to provide the storage you require and if space permits, a small chair is always useful.

• Take each drawer, shelf or cabinet in turn and clear out everything into a box or basket.
• Clean each bathroom storage area with a nice smelling disinfectant.
• Check all ‘used by dates’ on bottles, tablets and potions.
• Remove all old or unnecessary articles and only return the beautiful and necessary.
• Look at your bathroom towels. Could a beautiful color be introduced or co-ordinated with a set of new towels?
• Do your accessories look good? Are they clean? Have you co-ordinated them where possible?
• Check your bathroom suite. Does it need a good clean with Vim and vigour?
• Check your blinds or curtains. Do they need a wash?
• Wipe down the walls and clean the floor.

By doing your de-cluttering first you will now know the type and amount of storage you require.

• You may wish to add a seaside theme to your bathroom with colors of the sun, sea and sand or various hues of blue. You may consider the weathered tones of driftwood, fishing boats, wicker baskets and pebbles.
• You may choose a simple and easy care bathroom where up to date technology and streamlined fixtures are used. Details and accessories can be kept to a minimum but are chosen with careful consideration to storage needs, color and style.
• You may choose a Shaker Style bathroom with a simple, restful and relaxing style.

The choice is yours but do look in books, magazines and on-line for ideas!
