Clutter Feng Shui / Household Recycling

According to Chinese philosophy, by removing our unnecessary clutter we invite the wonderful, invisible but almost tangible spirit of Chi into our homes.
Chi, as believed by followers of Feng Shui, is not a peson but an invisible life force that feels like a breeze of happiness flowing through the home, entering the front door and exiting at the back or through the windows.

Clutter interrupts the path of the chi through the home. This may result in the chaos that is likely to affect all the inhabitants of the home.
It is believed that when the home has become disorganized and clutter is filling the rooms, the inhabitants are liable to feel depressed and unhappy.

This page, Clutter Feng Shui advises you how to clear clutter from your home enabling the flow of chi to travel through the house freely, bringing joy and contentment into your home.
Feng Shui for Beginners will help you to understand the basics of this way of life.

LIVE SIMPLY THAT OTHERS CAN SIMPLY LIVE

Bedrooms and Feng Shui

  • A bedroom should be your personal retreat and a sanctuary where relaxation and rejuvenation take place. Clutter has no place here!
  • Look under the bed. Remove all things and clean the area thoroughly. Try not to store anything under the bed unless absolutely necessary. If you have to then make sure that all these items are stored in a tidy fashion in boxes and drawers.
  • Check through all your wardrobes, closets and dressing tables, drawers, inside, outside and underneath.

Banishing Clutter from the Hall

  • The hallway needs to be inviting, bright and vibrant.
  • If there are piles of clutter in the hallway, they may be blocking the entrance of chi into your home. Remove any junk that has accumulated here.
  • If you leave your shoes and coats inside the front door, place them tidily in a cupboard or a custom-made storage facility.
  • Always being mindful of allowing the gentle chi breeze in.
  • Remove and recycle all items that are no longer in use.

Clutter feng shui for the Stairway

  • Keep the stairs free of clutter.
  • Do not leave items such as shopping bags or work related items on the steps.
  • Get used to returning things to their correct places immediately.
  • Do not leave junk on the hall table. Make an arrangement of flowers or place a photo or picture with an inviting and positive image on your table instead?
  • Pastel shades on the walls help to keep the area bright. Good lighting and a well placed mirror can boost the energy flow.

Clutter feng shui is the first step to bringing beauty back into your life, harmony to relationships and renewed faith into the subtle mystery of life.

Declutter the Living Room

  • Make sure you keep this room clutter-free, especially the corners where the chi can stagnate.
  • Remove and recycle any out of date magazines, newspapers and catalogues.
  • Keep only CDs, tapes, videos and books that you really want to listen to, watch or read.
  • Recycle or sell of old, musty books or ones that you know you will never re-read.
  • Look at your ornaments. Display as few as possible, only keeping the ones that you really, really want. Make room for new and more beautiful, feng shui orientated items.
  • Check under and down the sides of sofas and chairs. Buy beautiful storage cabinets to store possessions of the floor and neatly housed.
  • Keep clean, keep tidy, keep the flow of chi flowing steadily to encourage the convivial vibes.

Clutter feng shui for the Dining Room

  • Keep the dining room furnished simply and clutter free by removing all that is unnecessary, unattractive, old or broken!
  • Check the things you keep in your sideboard or glasses cabinet. Remove anything chipped, broken or unused for a long time.

Declutter and Organize the Kitchen

  • The kitchen needs lots of chi energy as it is a vibrant and busy place.
  • Keep your work-load down by getting rid of broken appliances, chipped crockery, dirty or torn towels and anything that emits negative vibes.
  • Check through your fridge, freezer, shelves and cupboards looking for out of date food, spilled packets or unwanted items.
  • Empty bins and recycle any items frequently.
  • Keep the old and unwanted out of the kitchen but fill it with things of beauty.
  • Choose good storage facilities for all your items leaving the kitchen looking clean, fresh and welcoming.
  • Replace old appliances with energy efficient ones.

A Feng Shui Bathroom

  • Most are rather cluttered with the bathroom suite leaving only space for a few extra storage pieces. Again get rid of the old, unused and unloved items.
  • Find the perfect storage place for body cleansing and bathroom cleaning products.
  • Keep the bathroom well aired, fresh smelling and hygienic and make room for just a few beautiful things that lift the spirit.

All clutter must go, the chi must flow, enabling you to achieve balance, harmony, a relaxing atmosphere, joy and peace.
Do go to the public library where there are many books detailing so much wonderful information about Feng Shui beliefs.
