A CLEANING SCHEDULE FOR ONE AND ALL

household cleaning schedule

Many have tried to organize their household cleaning through a devising a wonderful cleaning schedule.
Most of these detailed schedules will get the home looking cleaner but the trouble can be, how to organize the rota in such a way that everyone will enjoy their jobs cleaning the house.

The aim of the schedule should be:

  • 1) to suit the job to the worker's age and ability,
  • 2) to make the cleaning experience a lot of fun.

These suggestions may help to maintain a cleaning enthusiam for more than a few weeks!

To plan your schedule well, you will need to take time out and have a really good think about how much house cleaning you want doing and how and when you want to do it. Here are some guidelines:-

  • Who is going to do the cleaning?
  • How often is this activity going to take place?
  • What jobs need doing regularly?
  • What cleaning jobs need doing every now and again?
  • Remember too, that it is often difficult to clean, if the said area is untidy.
  • Maybe you have a maid who comes a few sessions for a few hours a week to clean the house or maybe you live on your own and will do the work yourself.
  • Are you going to share-out jobs with the family? Will they be given a few jobs every day or they will be asked to do a big clean up at the weekend?

Remember to consider the following:

  • Will I include the cleaning area outside the home as well as the inside?
  • What jobs need doing everyday or only on certain days?
  • What jobs need doing once a week?
  • What cleaning jobs need doing once a month or just a few times a year?
  • List any cleaning jobs that might be specific to your personal requirements.
At first you may need to prioritize jobs that need doing more urgently. Maybe you will need to make a daily Cleaning Schedule but, as time goes by and you feel you have done the outstanding jobs, then it is probably easier to work along a weekly schedule

Now write out the great Cleaning Schedule for all to see and adhere to.

Every week, it is likely that the schedule will be a little different from the previous and the next one.
You may have had visitors one week or you may decide to clean out the closets or the kitchen drawers another. Maybe you will decide to have a thorough clean one week and a speed clean the next. You may decide to have a lazy week when the sun is shining and you want a few days away.

The main thing is to always remember to enjoy your home and give yourself time for fun and laughter.

Life is for living so don't be a slave to cleaning.
