CLEANING KITCHEN CABINETS THE EASY WAY
cleaning kitchen cabinets
Unfortunately, cleaning kitchen cabinets thoroughly, and at frequent intervals, both inside and out, is a job that needs doing regularly.
Both surfaces tend to become dirty and unhygienic, not only due to spilled food and unwashed fingers on door handles, but also due to the grease, smoke and dust circulating in the often moist atmosphere of the kitchen.
Useful Cleaning Products.
Always check labels for suitability of purpose
- Mild dishwashing liquid
- Mild laundry detergent
- All purpose household cleaners
- Specific kitchen surface cleaners
- A solution of ½ vinegar to ½ half water
PS Scouring powers or other abrasives such as wire wool can scratch and damage the surfaces.
The inside story of Cleaning Kitchen Cabinets
- Remove all the items from one cabinet
- Using a soft cloth, warm water and a mild detergent, clean each shelf, under and over, including the surround. Pay particular attention to each corner where crumbs and dirt are prone to collect.
- Dry the newly washed area and return all items that are still in date and belong in that specific cabinet.
The outside story of cleaning your kitchen cabinets
- Most kitchen work tops are easy to keep spotless if they are cleaned thoroughly after every use.
- The surrounds of the cabinets will need a good clean but more importantly the cabinet door handles need particular attention as grease and dirt may collect almost unnoticed here. It is common knowledge that unwashed dirty or greasy fingers on door handles, can be a cause of cross contamination of germs.
