6 Ways to get your Children to help with the Housework
At every opportunity and at all ages, children must be praised for all attempted jobs done around the house, and completed as well as they are able.
There are many little useful jobs to be attempted whilst the child is very young and as the child gets older more difficult jobs must be allocated and expections for the completed jobs well done, can be raised.

Whilst your child is young, end every play session with a tidying up time. Don't leave this special time until they are tired out and grumpy but choose to end a session with a song and a tidy-up game.

As your child gets a little older, aged 4-5, add a few more jobs to her repertoire. such as, being responsible for her clothes. She must learn always, to take discarded items to their rightful place.
Clothes must not be left lying on the floor and all shoes must be placed where they belong.
A child of this age will need many gentle reminders but will learn in time, and will love the fact that tidiness brings praise, hugs, laughter and fun.

When your children are old enough, (aged around 5-7) to help with the house cleaning, it is time to gather the family together and work out a cleaning rota.
Allow the children to choose the jobs they enjoy doing.
Decide a time for the next get-together so that a change of job can be allotted to a different child if that's what they want.
Always work together and support each other gently.

Decide as a family when the regular cleaning session should be carried out. A good time may be a Saturday morning with the cleaning shift ending with a nice treat, such as a drink and a bun.
Some jobs might incur a daily effort and the completion of these must also celebrated.

If a child cannot do her job on the Saturday morning spot, discussion with another sibling should be encouraged and a swap could be organized.
Always play fair.
Always be thankful to eachother for the jobs beautifully done.
Give a helping hand and loads of encouragement.
